postheadericon The Eden Project 2009

In 2009 I and a group of my friend's went to The Eden Project in Cornwall, it was amazing, nothing like I had ever seen, the domes are a lot bigger than they look in pictures, for those of you that haven't been yet, I strongly recommend that you do because it is just fantastic.

The first time i went into the domes, it was just breath-taking, it was a rain forest, it had little birds flying around and everything , the guides even pointed out a few small lizards resting on the posts of lamps, it was very humid in there which means you have to take your jumpers off because of how stuffy it is, its truly amazing.

We took as many pictures as we could, and then we gradually moved into the next dome which was a tropical jungle or rain forest. It was slightly cooler than the first dome, it was still truly awesome. By the time we got through the tropical dome it was lunchtime, so we went to the cafe and had some food, it was interesting because every now and then we would have birds flying around or walking around on the floor, which i have never seen before in a cafe!

After lunch we met up with our tour guide again, and we went around all the alotments because we were going to pick vegetables and some fruit to go into a vegetable soup we were going to make later on. We picked some spuds, we picked some salad leaves, even some other vegetables that I cannot remember.

Anyway, when we had got the vegetables together, we headed back to the kitchen/cafe area to go and make the soup. At the end it was very tasty and we didnt leave ANY of it!

Then we went to the ice skating rink! yes, an ice skating rink, they have that at the Eden project. It wasn't the biggest ice rink but it was a good size, we arrived when the people were tidying up the rink, from the previous session of skaters, like making sure the ice is nice and smooth. So we got on and went to the desk to go and trade in our shoes for skates, put the skates on and walked back to the ice rink, we had to wait a bit for them to finish but it got our adrenalin pumping which  was good! also there were people of all ages, and probably different skill ranges.

Finally we got let into the rink, it had to be single file so that nobody was knocked over! but i think i found it easier than most because i go out on my Rollerblades a lot, and Iv'e been ice skating before, in Plymouth pavilion. That must of lasted for at least one hour, but it was amazing, more to the fact that i never fell over once! i came close a few times, but thats because i was attempting to show off my skills...and failed hence me nearly falling over, but none the less it was a blast!

After that we walked back to the kiosk where we got our skates and got our shoes back, then walked back up the hill to the car park, which is quite a long walk as our legs felt like rocks by the end of ice skating and it felt rather strange going from ice skates to flat-sole shoes, driving back home we reflected on our day and what we all thought of it.

I'd love to go again, I really would! if you haven't been and are interested in going, I suggest you should.

A couple of months ago, I went to Dartmoor with a group of friends for an activity weekend which involved team-building exercises, rock-climbing and archery, it was amazing. On the first day we did the team building exercise, we were given a road-side ditch, which stretched for half a mile! we had to clear the...
